Researchers writing on Authorea can choose to submit directly to their journal of choice and/or to publish their work as a preprint. In both cases, your work will appear in our browse section. If you do not wish for your article to appear in the browse section, please set your article privacy settings to "Private."

Preprinting your work on Authorea allows for the rapid dissemination of your findings and preprints have been shown to lead to an overall citation advantage (Aman, 2013).

Authorea also allows articles to be published/deposited as post-prints. That means early versions of documents that have already been published can be self-archived in Authorea. This publishing route, known as Green Open Access, has been shown to have a 53% citation advantage (Hicks, 2016).
