How do I remove or withdraw a preprint?
Once a preprint is posted (on Authorea or on any preprint server), it receives a DOI, and it becomes a part of the permanent, citable scholarly literature. As such, preprints cannot be removed. There are some special cases in which a preprint can be withdrawn.
In order to request a withdrawal:
Go to the preprint you would like to withdraw
Confirm that you are the main (first) or corresponding author for the preprint in question
Log in (with the same email address that the preprint was created with)
Click "Edit" at the top of the preprint
In Edit mode, find the Document Settings option under the ⚙️ at the right end of the toolbar
Click Request Withdrawal and follow the prompts
